State Visit Mexico-UK has ended
The Mexican President, Felipe Calderón, undertook a State Visit to the United Kingdom between 30 March to 2 April.

2 April
- Mexican President Felipe Calderón and his wife Margarita Zavala bid farewell to Britain's Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh after a four day State visit, at Buckingham Palace.
- President Calderón attended the London Summit to meet with the G20 leaders.
The decisions made by the leaders of the world's largest economies at the London Summit have now been published in the communiqué "Globlal plan for recovery and reform".

1 April
- During the third day of the State Visit Mexico-UK, President Calderón spoke at the Royal Society as part of the British Council’s 75th anniversary celebrations. He spoke on themes of climate change and said that this is one of the biggest challenges of the humanity in the 21 century.

31 March
- President Calderon visited Aberdeen today to explore opportunities in the British energy sector. He was accompanied by HRH the Duke of York. British companies have developed considerable energy expertise from their experience in the North Sea. They are keen to cooperate with the Mexican energy industry and share their expertise with Mexico to help it exploit its deep water oil reserves.
- In the afternoon, President Calderon attended an event cosponsored by UK Trade and Investment, the British government trade and investment promotion organisation, to promote the opportunities for all British companies in Mexico. The UK's creativity makes it an attractive business partner for Mexican companies - whether as exporters or as investors.
- Finally, President Calderón attended a State Banquet at Guildhall hosted by Lord Mayor of the City of London Ian Luder. Mexican President and his wife Margarita Zavala signed the Distinguished Visitors Book before the State Banquet.
30 March
- This Monday, the President of Mexico begun a four-day State Visit to the UK with a ceremonial welcome by Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II, in London. After the welcome, they left for Buckingham Palace in a procession of horse-drawn carriages.
- Later, President Calderón met Prime Minister Gordon Brown at 10 Downing Street, where they held talks on bilateral relations and international issues. After their meeting, they issued the following Joint Declaration Mexico-UK.
- This evening, President Calderón attended a State Banquet held in his honour at the Buckingham Palace. During the State Banquet, The Queen gave a speech about the State Visit Mexico-UK.
During the State Visit, President Felipe Calderón and members of his Cabinet held talks on bilateral and international issues, such as climate change, sustainable development and commercial trade between two countries.

- Visit to the Palace of Westminster and speech by President Calderón

- Participation in the British Council’s 75th anniversary celebrations
The State Visit was followed by the London Summit, where President Felipe Calderón and Mexico participated as a member of the G20.
