Study of climate change impact in Mexico
Working together with the Federal Government, the British Embassy, sponsored a study on the economic impact of climate change in Mexico. This survey is vital in supporting and stimulating climate change discussions between the government, the civil society and the private sector.
Coordinated by Luis Miguel Galindo PhD in the School of Economics of the National University, this report assesses how climate change affects various sectors of the Mexican economy, in order to inform and understand the need to take action now, through public policies, investment decisions, mitigation and adaptation actions against the effects of climate change.
Other projects funded by the British Embassy, like the study of climate change effects on water quality in Mexico City, or the training of Mexican specialists in identifying climate change climate change at a local level, are also key in gathering information needed to promote debate in the national agenda and enhance decision making.
