Call for Project Proposals - Low Carbon, High Growth projects on Climate Change (13/11/2009)
The UK's Strategic Programme Fund (SPF) is calling for innovative and visionary project proposals that seek to achieve concrete outcomes related to our Low Carbon, High Growth (LCHG) Programme. We have an excellent record in recent years of projectes that have helped make a difference in Mexico and look forward to another very good year.
Project proposals will build on the post-Copenhagen policy framework on climate change, looking towards:
- Post Copenhagen & COP 16 policy reform and implementation
- National and State level policies
- Private Sector mitigation actions on climate change
- Work towards carbon trading schemes
- Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV)
- Mitigation Actions at local and national level
- Implementation of Mexico's existing policy framework (PECC etc)
- Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (REEE)
Project proposals will be encouraged to take into account the following, reflected through clearly measurable indicators:
- Analysis of Context
- Avoid duplication/coordinate with key partners
- Sustainability
- Wide participation of stakeholders, particularly relevant Government authorities
- Planning, Monitoring and evaluation (M&E)
- Balance of project risks and capacity to deliver concrete results
- Effective and innovative means of communication
Co-funding is strongly encouraged. Projects should aim to seek 50% co-funding as a benchmark for best practice.
The initial deadline for concept bids is Friday December 18, with the possibility for well-developed concepts to be submitted in January 2010. However late bids run the risk of failing to make the cut.
Please contact spf.infomexico@fco.gov.uk to obtain the necessary bidding forms, mentioning your project idea in one paragraph. Bidding forms will only be sent if we consider your idea to be in line with SPF objectives. Find out more information on Strategic Programme Fund.
